Celebration.

There has been, and is going to be, quite
a bit of celebrating around here.
First, G. and I celebrated our 6th wedding
anniversary on Sunday.
June 3, 2006
We had a lovely dinner at one of our favorite
french restaurants in
New Hope followed by a
shot and a beer in New Hope's
most famous dive bar (John and Peter's).
Diversity.
Vichyssoise and Beet Carpaccio.

Nom Nom.
Second, is G.'s birthday party on Saturday!
It's a big one so it should be quite an event!!
I'll post when I can.

Can't wait to share all the birthday
shenanigans with you.

You may have noticed our absence last week.
Well, I've been diving into the 30 Day Vegan workshop
and my detox process (Eeek).
I also had an ear infection.
Yuck.

I also owe you a product review
but with all the planning and prepping
I think I'll put it off until next week.

I'm also going to start a new little segment
about what goes down on
 Mondays around here.

As this blog matures I feel structure starting to form.

Random Things.

I wasn't feeling too bloggy last week so I decided to
 give myself a break.
I like breaks.

I'm still working on my photography skills.
Here's a little taste (punny!!) of my David Loftus FoodiePac from Hipstamatic.
Learning about lighting and some
homemade tricks to
help in that regard.

This little one seems to be enjoying dress up more and more.
Nothing like a mama made pillow case dress over organic terry pajamas.
It's a look worth rockin'.

I made this lovely concoction from one of my pins on Pinterest.
It's a goji berry lemonade.
Apparently, it's supposed to work like a liquid sunscreen.
I'm not sure if it worked but it sure does taste good.

And these two...

the best of friends!!

And finally, for a baby who felt less than 100%,
a movie in a basket.

I want to start doing a kind of product review post once a month.
I've seen some things in the grocery store that have
 piqued my interest.
I had a lightbulb moment.
It will also include anything from apps to cleaning products.
Look for that soon.

Enjoy every moment!!

Random Things.

 Brace yourself for pictures!
We (and by "we" I mean my dear friends Jamie and Danielle) took the girls (BFF's Iris and Vivian) to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia.
What a neat place.
I remember my Dad taking me there when I was a kid. Though, it was in another location back then.
Now it's in a grand old building in the Fairmont section of the city.
I didn't get any pics of it from the outside as I was towing a
radio flyer with two little munchkins and carrying a diaper bag.
Maybe next time.
Sorry for the blurriness.
These little ones move fast.

I love this picture!

Her Daddy would be so proud.

Weeeeeeeeeeee!

What a croc.

Iris and Vivian gettin' there jam on.
This was my favorite room!

You better believe she took that little girls binky and put it right in her mouth.
Cringe.

On another note, today is Day 1 (1 of 3) of prepping for my fast.
I did a big food shop to gather all my juice ingredients, herbal teas, lemons and cucumbers for my drinking water, etc.
I'm also going to make strawberry fruit leather and kale chips in case I feel I need a little nibble.
Plus, the Nugget loves both.

Oh, and funny story, I bought this little journal to keep track of my fasting adventures. I just saw the goddessy looking woman on the cover and thought...perfect. What I didn't notice until I got home were all the Iris at the bottom.
That happens to me alot.

Anyway, today I'm just going to keep the sugar to a minimum/none at all.
No meat.
Maybe an egg.
Lots of veggies and water.
Wish me luck!

One more thing.
Iris and I have watched this video about a dozen times.
Even if you don't have kids it's hilarious.

Random Things.

Finally. Snow.

It's gone now but it was good while it lasted.
And, a little snow day tradition around here...spiked hot chocolate!

Boozy Hot Chocolate
3 cups milk
3 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Whisk all ingredients together over medium heat.
Give it a shot of your favorite liqueur and top it with a marshmallow.
Done.

When the warm air started to roll in, so did the fog.
I heart fog.
Especially out here in the woods.

I also knocked off this idea from a friend.

Laminated fabric under the high chair!
Genius.
The fabric is Jenean Morrison and I think it's called Intermission.
I bought a yard and cut it in half.
Now I have a half yard to play with!

Here we are taking the girls to the fabric store in town.
Vivian is Iris's BFF, they are exactly one week apart and her Mommy's name is Jamie too.
Crazy.

How cute are they?

Love them!

Well, now would probably be a good time tell you that Nugget and I are going to Florida to visit my Mom.
Grandma Beth.
Tomorrow!

We've got to escape this wintry hell!
That's a joke, of course. If you're not from around these parts we've had a mild winter to say the least.
We had one other freak snow storm this year... in October... when this happened.

I'm a little nervous about it. This will be Iris's first time flying the friendly skies and we're going it alone.
Oy!
I'll let you know how it goes.

  Now we are packing.

How we are going to survive without Daddy is beyond me.
I'm hoping all the newness will be a distraction for nuggie but I know early in the morning and just before bed she'll be missing her Daddy... and so will I.

I plan on bringing my laptop and posting a bit while in Florida so check in with us once in a while.

When I return I'll be revisiting the To Do List.
Last year's and this year's.
Brace yourselves.

Quietude.

Thinking I probably won't be blogging this week
 (does this count as blogging?).
Still nursing this damn cold or whatever you call it.
Now it's in my chest.
Actual all three of us have it.

Also, trying to wrap (get it) up all my last minute projects and shopping.

Merry Christmas!
and
Happy Holidays!

Random Things.

Last week was a little tough.
Lots of doctors appointments (for me) and consequently trying to catch up on housework.
Blogging had to take a backseat.

But the good thing that came out of it is that I realized I haven't taken very good care of myself this past year.
Between post-partum blues, sleep deprivation and indulging all my nursing-mama-cravings I also haven't exercised very much. I'M A PERSONAL TRAINER...WHAT WAS I THINKING?!
Game on!

Time to get back to what I know. Time to dust off the juicer. Time to start making MY health a priority.

I would also like to Thank everyone who visits this blog.
We sure are happy that you take the time to visit us.

Please enjoy some moments I've captured over the last couple of days...

This Iris sporting her very stylish Thanksgiving attire. The whole outfit is from the Gap except for the shoes (another wonderful hand-me-down from Aunt Nicole) and the cowl was joint effort by my mother and I. I think it looks absolutely precious.

Here she is helping me take some measurements for Aunt Danielle's pants. More on that later.

It seems the little nugget has an affinity for hiding. She can often be found under the stools navigating her way through the bars with cat-like precision.

Here's my juicy little nugget enjoying her first taste of carrot/beet/apple/cucumber juice.
She loved it. Seriously.

If this face doesn't say it all...
